Google Launches Gemini 4 Argon, Its New Flagship AI Model
Google has released Gemini 4 Argon worldwide for developers, enterprises and paying subscribers, targeting complex coding, science and agentic work.

Google announced on October 13, 2026 that Gemini 4 Argon, its newest frontier model, is now available globally. Developers can reach it through the paid tier of the Gemini API in AI Studio and Android Studio, businesses through Gemini for business, and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers through the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search.
Google describes Argon as a model built for long, multi-step "deep work" in coding, finance, law, cybersecurity and science. The model supports a unified input-output limit of one million tokens, and Google says it ranks first on the Vals Index, a benchmark covering professional domains such as finance, legal and tax work.
Introductory API pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input discounted by 95%. After November 30, 2026, the price rises to $4 and $20 respectively.
According to Reuters, the launch comes after a difficult period for Google's AI effort, including the cancellation of the planned Gemini 3.5 Pro and leadership changes at DeepMind. Google also says it is expanding its Fairwind program for vetted cybersecurity defenders and offering 10,000 scientists six months of free top-tier access to Antigravity.
